The 100 Best Performing CEOs In Nigeria 2025

African CEO Magazine to Honour Nigeria’s Top 100 CEOs and Leading Professionals in Lagos

Lagos, Nigeria – The African CEO Magazine, a New York-based monthly publication dedicated to corporate leadership across the continent, has announced the inaugural Nigerian CEO Awards 2025. The prestigious event will recognise the 100 Best Performing CEOs in Nigeria alongside the country’s most outstanding professionals at a grand ceremony scheduled for Sunday, 30 November 2025, at the iconic Eko Hotel & Suites in Lagos.

Organised by the African CEO Media Corporation – publishers of AfricanCEO and NigerianCEO magazines – the dual awards ceremony combines the Nigerian CEO Awards and the National Professional Awards. It marks the first Nigerian edition of the magazine’s highly regarded annual “100 Best Performing CEOs in Africa” programme.

Lydia Thomas, Publisher and Executive Director of African CEO Media Corporation, stated: “Nigeria is home to some of Africa’s most dynamic and impactful enterprises – from the Dangote Group and UBA Group to Vitafoam and Air Peace. These companies are making multi-billion-dollar investments that drive socioeconomic progress and human development. The Nigerian CEO Awards will celebrate the visionary leaders behind these success stories and honour CEOs who have demonstrated exceptional corporate governance, business excellence, and tangible contributions to national growth.”

The selection process gives particular weight to CEOs of companies listed on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) and other regulated entities, due to their adherence to rigorous standards in corporate governance, financial reporting, sustainability, taxation, and accountability.

Award categories will include:

  • CEO of the Year
  • Industry-specific honours (Banking, Energy, Aviation, Maritime, Hospitality, Public Sector, etc.)
  • Special recognitions across multiple sectors

In parallel, the National Professional Awards will celebrate the top 100 professionals who have shown outstanding leadership and excellence in both public and private sectors.

Nominations are open year-round and completely free of charge. An independent panel of distinguished experts from within and outside Nigeria will evaluate all submissions.

Evelyn George, Executive Coordinator of the 2025 ceremony, added: “In the face of current economic challenges, this event offers a vital platform for the Nigerian business community to come together, celebrate resilience, and spotlight the executives and professionals who continue to deliver excellence every day.”

The organisers have secured partnerships with leading local and international media outlets, with additional high-profile guests and honourees to be revealed in the coming weeks.

Lydia Thomas concluded: “Awards like these set the benchmark for excellence, distinguish true achievers, and inspire the next generation of leaders. Through the Nigerian CEO Awards and National Professional Awards, we aim to do exactly that – while creating one of the country’s premier annual gatherings for corporate Nigeria.”
