
Meta, in collaboration with the Federal Government of Nigeria, has launched the Llama Impact Accelerator—a new initiative aimed at empowering startups to develop AI-driven solutions that address Nigeria’s most critical challenges.
This groundbreaking program is being delivered in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation & Digital Economy (FMCIDE), the National Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (NCAIR), and the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA).
Program Overview
The Llama Impact Accelerator is an 8-month initiative focused on open innovation and responsible AI development using Meta’s open-source Llama models. It begins with an intensive six-week incubation phase, featuring:
Technical training
Mentorship from AI experts and industry leaders
This will be followed by six months of extended support, including:
Access to technical infrastructure
Ongoing mentorship
Opportunities for product development and visibility

Sade Dada, Meta’s Head of Public Policy for Anglophone West Africa, highlighted the importance of this partnership in building meaningful, scalable solutions:
