Nigeria’s construction industry is intensifying calls for improved material standards and modern plumbing systems as stakeholders warn that substandard products continue to undermine building safety and public health.
This concern was raised in Lagos during a recent gathering of construction professionals, where Kazeem Royal Properties and Constructions Ltd. emphasised the importance of durable, technology-driven plumbing solutions. The event coincided with the inauguration of the newly elected executives of the Association of Professional Plumbers of Nigeria, drawing participants from across the construction and plumbing value chain.
Plumbing Quality and Building Safety
Speaking on behalf of the company, Chief Operating Officer Basorun Babayeju stressed that the quality of plumbing materials directly impacts the safety and lifespan of buildings.
“Many structural and water-related failures are linked to the use of substandard products,” Babayeju noted.
He explained that Kazeem Royal Properties has invested in modern manufacturing processes to produce pipes and fittings designed to last over 50 years, with the broader goal of raising industry standards nationwide.

Babayeju described plumbers as vital contributors to national development, highlighting that efficient water systems are essential for public health and sustainable urban growth.
