As the festive season approaches, Ecobank Nigeria has reassured its customers of uninterrupted access to banking services throughout the year-end holidays, emphasizing the strength and reliability of its digital platforms.
In a statement released on Friday, the bank highlighted its commitment to ensuring convenience and security for customers, even as physical branches adjust operating hours in line with public holidays.
Victor Yalokwu, Head of Products & Analytics, Consumer & Commercial Banking at Ecobank Nigeria, noted that the bank’s digital channels and over 35,000 Ecobank Xpress Point agency locations nationwide will remain fully operational during the yuletide.
Customers, he said, will continue to enjoy a wide range of services including:
-
Local and international fund transfers
-
Bill payments and airtime top-ups
-
Merchant and QR payments
-
Balance inquiries and account statements
-
Cardless cash withdrawals via ATMs
“Ecobank encourages customers to leverage these digital solutions for safe, fast, and efficient banking, especially during the festive season when convenience and reliability are essential,” Yalokwu stated. “Our platforms are designed to deliver uninterrupted service and enhanced security at all times. We wish all our customers a joyful festive season and a prosperous New Year.”
Beyond service assurance, the bank also issued a strong advisory on fraud prevention. Yalokwu cautioned customers to remain vigilant against scams, noting that fraudsters often exploit the distractions of December’s shopping rush and travel season.
“From fake festive deals to cloned merchant sites and suspicious messages, scammers are most active at this time of year. Staying alert is the best way to keep your money safe,” he warned.
Ecobank advised customers to:
-
Shop only on trusted websites
-
Never share PINs, passwords, or one-time passwords
-
Avoid banking on public Wi-Fi networks
-
Be cautious of urgent or emotionally charged messages
-
Regularly review account activity
With these measures, Ecobank Nigeria aims to combine festive cheer with financial safety, ensuring customers can celebrate the season with peace of mind.
